iPhone Duo Priced $800 Above iPhone 18 Pro as Apple's First Foldable Arrives

Apple's first foldable iPhone costs considerably more than its flagship slab phone. The iPhone Duo carries an entry price of $1,999 / £1,999 / AU$3,499 for 256GB of storage, while the iPhone 18 Pro begins at $1,199 / £1,199 / AU$2,099, according to TechRadar. That leaves a gap of roughly $800 / £800 / AU$1,400 between the two starting models.

Both handsets were announced in September 2026. The iPhone 18 Pro reached buyers soon after that announcement, but the Duo did not go on sale until October 23. Each is now available in much of the world.

Storage upgrades push the Duo to $2,199 / £2,199 / AU$3,899 for 512GB, $2,599 / £2,599 / AU$4,699 for 1TB and $3,199 / £3,199 / AU$5,899 for 2TB. The iPhone 18 Pro climbs to $1,399 / £1,399 / AU$2,499, $1,799 / £1,799 / AU$3,299 and $2,399 / £2,399 / AU$4,499 across the same tiers.

The Duo pairs a 7.6-inch foldable Super Retina XDR OLED panel with a 5.4-inch cover screen of the same type. The 18 Pro offers a single display. TechRadar notes that the Pro model has the better cameras, while the Duo's second screen gives it more flexibility.

Folded shut, the Duo measures 117.8 x 84.1 x 11.3mm, a short, passport-like shape. The 18 Pro comes in at 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm. Opened out, the Duo measures 117.8 x 164.6 x 5.2mm.

The camera setups differ too. The Duo puts a punch-hole camera at the top right of its cover display and hides a camera under its folding screen. The 18 Pro keeps a larger Dynamic Island cut-out, which makes room for Face ID, a feature the Duo does not have. Around the back, the Duo carries two lenses in a horizontal layout, while the 18 Pro has a bigger three-lens block that Apple calls the camera plateau.

Weight separates them as well, with the Duo at 254g against 211g for the 18 Pro. Buyers can pick the Duo in Night Sky or Star White, while the 18 Pro comes in Black, Silver, Glacier and Burgundy.
